      Steps to Make a Payment

      1. Go to MiTreasury eServices – Citizen.
      2. Select Make a Payment.
      3. Enter the taxpayer's identifying information as requested.
      4. Select the appropriate payment type:
              -Return Payment – balance due with the MI-1040.
              -Estimated Payment – estimated income tax payment (MI-1040ES).
              -Extension Payment – payment associated with an extension.
          5. Select the correct tax year.
          6. Enter the payment amount.
          7. Enter the requested banking/payment information.
          8. Review all information carefully.
          9. Submit the payment.
          10. Save or print the confirmation for your records.

      Steps to Make a Payment

      1. Go to Michigan Treasury Online (MTO).
      2. Either:
              -Log in and select the appropriate business tax account, or
              -Use Fast Pay under Guest Services for a standalone payment.
          3. Select Make a Payment.
          4. Select the applicable tax account/type.
          5. Enter the appropriate tax period and payment information.
          6. Enter the payment amount.
          7. Continue to Michigan's Paymentus payment system.
          8. Select the payment method:
              -EFT Debit/eCheck – no fee.
              -Debit Card – $3.95 fee.
              -Credit Card – 2.3% convenience fee.
          9. Select the payment date. Future payments can be scheduled up to 365 days in advance.
          10. Review and submit. 
          11. Save or print the confirmation for your records.
