      Steps to Make a Payment

      1. Go to the Maryland Comptroller payment portal / Maryland Tax Connect.
      2. Select the option to make an individual income tax payment.
      3. Enter the taxpayer's identifying information.
      4. Select the appropriate payment type:
              -Estimated Payment – Form 502D
              -Extension Payment – Form 502E
              -Resident Return Payment – Form 502
              -Nonresident Return Payment – Form 505
          5. Select the appropriate tax year.
          6. Enter the payment amount.
          7. Select the payment method:
              -E-check/ACH – no charge.
              -Credit card – service fee applies.
          8. Review all information carefully.
          9. Submit the payment.
         10. Save or print the confirmation for your records.

      1. Access the Maryland Comptroller's online tax system.
      2. Select the applicable business income tax account.
      3. Choose Make a Payment.
      4. Select the appropriate payment type:
        • Return/Balance Due Payment
        • Estimated Payment – Form 500D
        • Extension Payment – Form 500E
      5. Select the correct tax year/period.
      6. Enter the payment amount.
      7. Enter the requested banking/payment information.
      8. Review the information.
      9. Submit the payment.
      10. Save or print the confirmation for your records.
